Ramon and I don’t really live a normal life. Our surroundings tell us so almost once a week. The choices we make are ‘weird’ and according to some even ‘irresponsible’. And maybe we are a bit weird, but we have been through a considerable process to get to this point. A process with some very deep lows, but also with very high highs. A process of which our close friends and family sometimes say it could come straight from a book or a movie. In this entire process there have been a tremendous amount of little, but very important details, of which I’m certain that I’d eventually forget about them.
That’s one of the reasons why I decided to write all of it down. Because even though I’m in the middle of everything that’s going on in our lives and even when I see all the beautiful things God is doing through them -or not-, I too more than once find myself feeling ‘weird’ and wondering sometimes if my husband and I really aren’t being ‘irresponsible’. This blog is as much for me as it is for you as the reader. It’s a way to be able to read back on how we got where we got.
So, if you want to read this blog critically or skeptically, it’s no problem. If you’re still feeling that way after reading the stories that follow the coming weeks, we can still be friends. But I do suspect that after reading about our story there’s one thing that you can’t deny anymore: there’s a higher plan and that plan might have some weird turns and twists from our point of view, but those twists most of the times have a cause or a learning purpose. But sometimes they don’t, and that’s still okay because even then God is still good and we are still His children.
It might be good to tell you that I will try to tell our story as chronological as I possibly can, with one story per blog. Still, some stories evolved over the past years, in that case, I will finish those stories in one blog, so we don’t go back and forth all the time.
