#20 - HomeFrontTeam
This week we received word that Stichting VPE-zending (The Dutch branch of AG-missions) has decided to start working together with us! In that mail, we also received a little to-do list of things that needed to be taken care of. One very important thing on that list is compiling a HomeFrontTeam (HFT).
Maybe it's crossed your mind now and then: 'I'd like to do things like this too, very important, but to move my entire family across the world is a lot to ask.' Well, consider this your opportunity to help us when the Bakkers are Beyond Borders!
You can become part of our HomeFrontTeam! A good and enthusiastic HFT is essential for us to do our work well. The HFT will take a big part of the workload of off our shoulders, so we can focus on the place that we're at at that moment. Does that sound great or what?!
These are the roles we have for people in our HFT:
The chairman: You make sure dates for new meetings are planned and that the HFT will come together now and then. During these meetings, you make sure everything's going in a structured way, and that all the to-dos are divided amongst the team members. After the meetings, it's your job to make sure everybody follows through on their to-do's.
The financial man: You keep an eye on how our financial support system is doing and analyze if financial goals are being made or if new actions are necessary. Also, if we're facing a financial decision that we have to make, we'll run it by you, so you can look with fresh and objective eyes.
The communication-expert: The name says it all: you think and support in all forms of communication. Whether it's spreading our newsletters, or creating a flyer for fundraising, you love it all.
The secretary: During meetings you take minutes and make sure that all information gets to the members of the HFT so that everybody knows what's been spoken off and what's expected of them.
The prayer coordinator: You make sure that our prayer points get to the different prayers/churches and you will pray for us yourself too.
The confidant: Living in a different country, in a different culture can be a little rough. On your marriage, on raising your kids, but also because we simply miss our own family and friends. Sometimes there are things that we can't share with anyone to protect the location where we are, but that is very important to get out of our system. You'll be the designated listener for this and in this role, you will also have the possibility to give us advice and guidance.
We want to ask you to really think and pray about our request, to see if this might be something that God's putting on your heart. Let us know by sending us a message through the contact form or through bakkersbeyondborders@gmail.com
