#19 - When are you going to America?

Today's going to be a short blog (at least, we're going to try), within it an update on how things are going with America and the time after.

In the last couple of months, we've been working hard to prepare everything. Because of the new 'three-months-plan', we don't have to stop the rent for our current house and we don't have to do a big furniture-sale. God has provided in a very amazing way with a gorgeous place to live in Pennsylvania and we will not have to spend a lot of time and effort in obtaining the visas. In short: everything is ready and if it were up to us, we'd leave yesterday. Everything is ready, except for that one important precondition, that makes these sorts of things a lot more difficult: fundings.

We've been working hard to save as much money as we can and to do a lot of fundraising. The saving is going pretty well, the fundraising isn't sufficient yet. We've got some people that have told us they believe in our mission so much, that they decided to support us monthly, to make our trip to America (and who knows where else) possible. Next to that, we've had a number of people that have been supporting us by giving us a one-time gift. Ramon is working really hard as a nightguard and a videographer and I try to chip in too by running Stress Less Family coaching and translation work. All to make our little piggy-bank grow!

All and all we put in a lot of work, but the needed amount isn't there yet. On the one hand, we sometimes find this difficult; we're ready and we want to get started. On the other hand, we see both in our own lives and in others' that God doesn't even break a sweat about amounts that can get us in full-on panicking mode. For example, friends of ours needed a new car because their old one broke down. They did not have sufficient funds to buy a decent one, but a car was the spill of their ministry. A bunch of friends started a fundraiser and withing a week we raised €13.000 for them! That's less than €2000 more than we need! We know that we're doing what we can do and are now waiting for God to touch peoples' hearts to partner with us in our calling. Because when He thinks it's time, the money can be there in a heartbeat!

So the answer to the question: 'When are you going to America?' is 'When God provides in the things we need to do so.'

What happens after?

Because we don't have a concrete date for going to America, it's sometimes a little harder to plan our next steps. What we do know is that Israel still has a special place in our hearts and that there are possibilities opening up for us to go there and serve a settlement. This idea is starting to get more detailed and we're looking forward to seeing if we can go there and help build that community.

Another place that's high on our to-go list is Kenya. We have no clue about the how, what or when, but we do know that God has been putting Kenya on our path multiple times through multiple people.

As we wrote in an earlier blog, we believe in the importance of staying in motion and asking for red lights instead of waiting and asking for green lights. We know that around the world there are places that can use extra hands and help and have our minds set on giving that wherever we come.

On our partner page, you can find ways to help us start our adventure as soon as possible. You can partner with us (monthly), but also hire us for a bunch of different things! Click the button below to go to that page!
